The Classic Stage Company (CSC) is set to honor the legendary playwright and librettist John Weidman with a special tribute production, directed by the renowned Susan Stroman. John Weidman, known for his collaborations with composer Stephen Sondheim, has left an indelible mark on the theatrical landscape. His works, including Assassins, and Pacific Overtures, have garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards. Weidman's ability to craft thought-provoking narratives and explore complex themes has made him a revered figure in the industry.
Stroman, has worked closely with Weidman on several productions, including the Tony award winning Contact. Her collaboration with Weidman has resulted in some of the most memorable and groundbreaking theater experiences of recent times. The tribute production at the Classic Stage Company will feature a selection of scenes, songs, and monologues from Weidman's extensive body of work.
