It is a whirlwind of backstage antics, where even the biggest names in Broadway must navigate a minefield of hilarious mishaps and unexpected twists before the highly-anticipated opening night.
Smash kicks off performances on March 11, with the grand opening set for April 10. Under the direction of five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman, the musical features a sensational score by the dynamic duo of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, both Tony, Emmy, and Grammy winners, who have crafted over two dozen unforgettable songs like “Let Me Be Your Star “ for the beloved television series.
The script comes from Tony nominee Rick Elice and Tony winner Bob Martin, ensuring a captivating narrative that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The choreography will be brought to life by Emmy-winning and Tony-nominated choreographer Joshua Bergasse.
The cast features some of Broadway's brightest talents, including Tony nominee Robyn Hurder, as Ivy, and two-time Tony nominee Brooks Ashmanskas, as Nigel. Joining them are Krysta Rodriguez (Spring Awakening, Smash TV Series) as Tracy, John Behlmann (Shucked) as Jerry, and the immensely talented Kristine Nielsen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike) as Susan.
